1.Structural and Electronic Properties Measurement of Complex Nanoscale Molecular Systems:Utilizing an internationally advanced quality-selective controllable deposition system, combined with a multifunctional scanning probe microscope, to conduct controllable preparation and high-precision measurement of organic-inorganic heterojunctions.

2.Preparation and Physical Property Measurement of New Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials and Their Heterojunctions: Preparing new two-dimensional heterojunctions and one-dimensional nanostructures using molecular beam epitaxy, and conducting atomic-scale characterization of electronic states and magnetic properties using a scanning probe microscope, followed by optoelectronic device processing and measurement.

3.Development and Application of Advanced Nanoscale Experimental Techniques: Developing preparation techniques for various new semiconductor materials and related devices, as well as combining these with various characterization equipment to achieve high-precision characterization of a variety of new materials and devices.

Academic achievement

The individual has published over 20 SCI papers in prestigious journals such as Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Physical Review Letters, and Nano Letters. They have authored or co-authored more than 10 papers as the first or corresponding author, with a total citation count exceeding 800 times. Their main academic achievements include:

1) Humboldt Scholarship: Received funding from the German Humboldt Foundation to develop internationally leading equipment for quality-selective controllable deposition, achieving breakthroughs in the preparation and nanoscale characterization of complex molecules at the single-molecule level. (Nature, 582, 375 (2020))

2) Two-Dimensional Electronic Systems: Achieved controllable preparation of various new two-dimensional electronic systems and conducted atomic-scale precision measurements of their electrical properties. (Advanced Materials, 11, 1605407 (2017); Nano Research, 14, 1390 (2020); Advanced Electronic Materials, 2, 1600324 (2016); Nano Research, 13, 3212 (2020); 2D Materials, 4, 025010 (2017); Nature Materials, 16, 717 (2017))

3) Stacked Quantum Systems: Prepared various stacked quantum systems and conducted measurements and analyses of their novel quantum excitation characteristics. (Advanced Materials, 2016, 28, 5013; Science Bulletin, 2018, 63, 419; ACS Nano, 2021, 15, 16589; Nature Communications, 2021, 12, 1978)

4) Single-Molecule Glycan Imaging (SMGI): Pioneered a cryogenic scanning tunneling microscopy (cryo-STM) technique to directly visualize glycans bonded to proteins and lipids at the single-molecule level with subnanometer precision. By employing electrospray ion soft-landing, intact glycoconjugates were deposited for imaging, revealing glycan spatial arrangements critical for biological functions. This breakthrough overcomes ensemble-averaging limitations, offering a transformative tool for glycobiology research. (Science, 382, 219 (2023))
